Forums - Gaming Discussion - FPS : better on a PC or console ?

of course pc because of controller, but consoles have been much better than before, approaching the pc. FPS was at its infancy during ps1 era, and drastically improved in ps2 era, and it is the dominant genre now.

Its definitely better on PC because of the very obvious reasons already mentioned, i.e better control scheme, which leads to much faster game play.Anybody can feel the difference in pace when PC and console FPSs are compared. Graphics is another thing, though the games on the consoles look amazing also.

i dont think anyone can seriously say, after playing both extensively, that console is better. PC quite simply beats console in every category hands down.

Most are probably better on PC, but I like prefer playing most games from all genre's on console myself.

4 ≈ One

PC is pretty much better at everything, plus you can use a game pad as well. Console gaming has little to compete with PC gaming barring cheapness, ease of use, and some console specific advantages -- these may be massive in terms of sales, but hardly register when it comes to the quality of the game play.

i'd say PC's are "superior" In terms of precise accuracy and so on but consoles are just more fun to play.

I'll admit Sony has done more for console gaming versus PC than any other with the increase to 10-bit sensitivity in the analog sticks in thr SixAxis and DualShock 3

PC doesn't offer just better controls and graphics - PC gives you the means to test your skills without limiting you. What the consoles' gamepads do is limit everyone's skills/accuracy and then adding auto-aiming to give you the impression that you're doing it... but really you're not giving much input, and you're not able to show your skills at a higher level.

Left 4 Dead is a good example. I heard that the X360 version at highest difficulty is comparable to the easiest setting of the PC version lol. How lame is that.

PC also gives you another big thing: MODS. MODS, MODS, MODS and more MODS!! They're awesome.

PC > Wii > Single analog w/ auto aim (Goldeneye/PD) > Dual analog

I think the best combo would be mouse/nunchuk but you'd have to sacrifice a few keys but I'd love to try Left 4 Dead with motion (melee) and Wii zapper.

IMO the only game where dual analog is probably the best control scheme is Geometry Wars. I just don't find dual analog intuitive at all. The tank analogy is a good one.

Not true ...  in many games including MGO using autoaim is a disadvantage.
