Forums - Sony - Analyst: PS3 continues to lack a clear ‘must-own’ title that will drive sales

To most western analysts, America is the only market that matters. NPD is pretty much the only source they ever use. That could be why the PS3 is often looked at unfavorably versus the other two consoles.

Actually, if he's talking USA only, then he's predicting fairly on-track with most people here a VGC, I think. 4 million in the US would probably be in line with 28-29 million WW sales by the end-of-year.

Which was the must-own title of the PS2? and the one of the PS1?

What made PS brand successful is that it had a wide range of good games, and I think the PS3 is doing, IMHO, a good job on it too.

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

PD needs to speed things up.

GT is godly, that thing could have carried the Saturn to success.

Metal Gear Solid 4 would like to have a word with this asshat.

Most own Game(s) for PS3 imo:

1. Little Big Planet
2. Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice

... he has a point, though I can think of 3-4 titles

(+ MGS4)
(+Uncharted: Drakes Fortune)

haha 4 million? well its sold 614,000 in the first 3 weeks of 2009. So therefore if he's right it will only sell 3.4 million the rest of the year (aka the other 49 weeks)

4 million is 76,000/week. What a horrible prediction. It just sold 150,000 so half that for the next 49 weeks.

The PS3 has too many "must-own" titles. They are all evenly divided up among the fanbase.

PS3 owners tend not to stick with one thing. We stick with everything.

I don't even know what this guy was thinking really. Just looking at metacritic theres tons of great games.

You got shooters like MGS4, Killzone 2 (soon), Call of Duty 4

Racing like Motorstorm and GT5P

Action like Uncharted and GTA
