It's possible... but HD-DVD and Blu-ray sales combined were supposed to be lower then what Blu-ray sales are right now... or so that's what people told me.

Blu-ray was originally projected at 15 million this year.

For it to be 6% lower... the number would of had to of been substantially lower since i don't believe combined Blu-ray and HD-DVD hit that in it's lifetime before 2008.

Add in 3 million from Janurary to march... and that means blu-ray sales have been really bad since march if that's the case.

Ah wait that 3 million number is the US numbers... though really they blame the US for media sales losses.

So something is being spun in regards to blu-ray numbers and it's performance.

What about VHS? Is that included in overall stats, that would have a huge detrimental effect on current sales percentages.

I didn't read the article, but sometimes the writer's confuse the message, or don't know what they're talking about.

"DVD sales dropped by 4%, whereas all sales in total, including Blu-ray dropped 6%" - those probably aren't the words, but they may have even been what GfK meant.

It looks like he's just saying "DVD and Blu-ray".

It's using Revenue too by the way.  Which is a big point to notice.

It would seem to indicate the Wii is bringing in more revenue that the PS3 and 360 despite the higher pricetags.

Which I guess the Wii sells even more software then was previously thought.

Lot of interesting info in the article... like the US being 3 times bigger then any other market in media sales.  2nd.  The UK.

Nintendo totally dominating software....

with Blu-ray/DVD going to Warner.
