"First things first. Yuusha 30 is the name of a new PSP game from Marvelous. This is apparently the game that the countdown on the Marvelous website is for (the clock on the countdown is clearly visible in the Weekly Famitsu scan above).

The title roughly translates to Brave 30, or Valiant Heroes 30. It's essentially four games rolled into one. You get your pick of four characters (Hero, Princess, Knight, and Archmage) and each character their own corresponding gametype..

If you pick the Hero you get a side-scrolling dungeon crawler. The Princess gets a top-down shooter, the Knight has to avoid traps in a top-down action game, and the Archmage (or Devil King) stars in a strategy game where you summon monsters to kill the heroes. Each of the other characters will face off against the Archmage in their own modes.

The "30" in the title is also an important part of the game itself. You only get 30 seconds to clear each of the stages in the different game modes. Interesting, even if it does promise a lot of frustration. Keep checking back here for more news."

I don't think it will be available outside japan so ... And the graphics really look bad.

It's a marvelous game which almost all of them get published in the states by Xseed so I doubt it wouldn't be localized. As for the graphics, I actually prefer them to some low quality 3d graphics that I've seen in alot of rpgs on the PSP.

Yeah I agree about 3D, but if you look closer, it looks like GBA 2D...

Yeah they could have made it look more like the DS' 2d games or even better, but I'm saying it could look worse.

Not bad, yet another JRPG comes to a handheld over a console, depressing yet interesting.

i agree, handhelds are getting plenty of jrpgs. why not on ps3!

Why? Money.

Why do people still ask this question? It is pretty obvious why. Handhelds are many times cheaper to develop for, japanese games sell much much much better on handhelds, development is easier on handhelds, and so on. The only console that seems to have somewhat of a chance to compete with the handhelds in this area is the Wii, and even so it still is much more expensive, and there is less return.
