@ NintendoMan WTF??? The 80's was one of the worst generation of music, well, the mainstream at least. The 90's was actually a time where alot of really good bands were dominating the airwaves (Nirvana, Alice In Chains, SilverChair, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, Red Hot Chili Peppers (There Better Albums) ect) which were a "HELL" of alot better than new wave and 80's hair metal.

Back to the topic, I'd have to say that 2008 was a terrible year for music, but best single for this year for me personally would be a tie for me, I really liked Beck's song Chemtrails and then there was Slipknots- Psychosocial ,Ashes Divide - The Stone and Smashing Pumpkins' - Glow

Oh I didn't notice nintendomans comment on 90s music there.

Dude check out the underground shit during the 90s. It was pretty amazing. The mainstream was bad. So like, the stuff you heard on the radio might not have been good but the stuff that you might find on some music nerds blog on blogspot was extremely good.
