Forums - Microsoft - Take a chill pill before reading, but according to GameInformer the RRoD...

I've had 3 RROD's in the space of a year, but the last one was all the way back in May so I think I'm safe. But now my 360's having trouble reading discs for a prolongued amount of time so I have to resort to installing games on the hard drive. Pretty awkward with a 20GB hard drive. God, what a fucking disaster the machine is. (build quality-wise)

nokia it'sprofitable, n97 still yet to be released, nokia was working on hardware not software, they changed to services recently (2007).

and expect n97 to look just as good as in the video when it's released, the done it with mp3 sound quality (n91), and camera quality, (n95-n82). they will for it touch interface.

they will do it for software, also if you mean animations which it's the only thing the iphone have that s60 only recently got, and its disable in touch interfaces for a while.

they go all basic covered, even copy/paste, flash video in their mobile browser which is fast, (based on the kde webkit).

stereo bluetooth and many things iphone lacks... like VGA video recording , 5mpx-8mpx autofocus cameras. and yes people care since nokia sold over 10 million n95 faster than the iphone.

samsung its putting more pressure than apple is. with its 8mpx phones.

Ah, the specs war. Whatever you prefer Jo, really. All I'm saying is that I've used both and the iPhone is the better alternative (in my opinion and according to my criteria, of course) except for the whole walled garden approach and if what you need is an open phone it's either nokia or windows mobile. The n97 is the clunky s60 5.0 Touch + a built-in keyboard, the only reason it's special is because Nokia withholds that kind of keyboard from all but a select and very special line (the commie, although there's been oddities here and there) because full slide-out or clamshell qwerty's aren't mainstream.

I've lurked mobile phones forums for years (before I was lurking neogaf or vgchartz even) and it's something I don't enjoy arguing about because people, as much as it might be hard to imagine, are even more fanatical and vicious about cellphone brands than videogames and consoles.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

OMG The 360 RROD is The Biggest DIssappointment of 2008!!!

This is pure Lies, Sony paid Them to do it!, link?, More PR lies from Sony, GameInformer has a bias against MS, Sony purchased advertising on their site, The writer is a noob who doesn't know what his talking about, GameInformer isn't a reliable site, Gameinformer is owned by company x which is owned by company z therefore must be lying, the article is just a rumour, its been confirmed fake, duplicate thread please lock, why are you posting this? do you hate MS, why are you a hater, stop hating and enjoy games...

Oh, chill pill is finally taking effect... :p

The RRoD is the biggest dissappointment of THIS GENERATION, its a stain on the MS consoles that will probably never be washed away... All MS can do is cover it up with a 3 year warranty.

Meh. RROD was huge in 2007, but MS fixed it faster in '08 - took me a week to get my 1st 360 back.

Really, the big disappointment are ... the Wiilike numbers coming from the PS3. Also, how the economic downturn is affecting gaming was huge.

And the others on the list - Too Human? A flop yeah, but worthy of a mention? Nah...

Ninny's holiday hose-job? It's been happening for the past 3 holidays. Get over it. Not worth a mention.

NXE avatars aren't perfect, but they really serve no purpose at the moment, but will one day. Give them a chance. That = phail.

What about 2-year old games still selling for full price? What about flops like Haze?

This list = PHAIL.

No one is gonna flame the OP - RROD still exists, but it's so 2007.

Nintendo did not hose us in the past:

Holiday 2006, we had the Wii launch and Zelda Twilight Princess (a AAA game).

Holiday 2007, we had Super Mario Galaxy (another AAA game), and were supposed to have Brawl too, until it was delayed a month.

Holiday 2008, hose job.  Wii Music was mediocre and Animal Crossing was a lazy port job IMHO.

I have only had my 360 since September, and it has not RROD yet, which is awesome.  BUT, It did freeze on me 4 times, once with one red light coming on. I just sent it to Best Buy PRP to get a credit, in which I will buy an Arcade unit (I got to keep my 20GB HDD).  I wonder if the Arcade units are built better?  I know they are cheaper, but since the target audience is casual gamers for the arcade, I wonder if MS decided to use better components so they don't get THAT many more returns, since it's priced to sell large units...I dunno.  I am still happy with Microsoft.  Not so much with Best Buy, they were dicks about my return when I tried bringing it to the store.

My Xbox360 got its RRoD in 2008 so have I agree with them.
And my biggest (video game related) positive surprise for 2008 was how fast Microsoft sent it back (repaired of course).
