Forums - Sony - 3rd Parties: Why Would They Pick The PS3 Anymore?

lol flamebait. A majority of 3rd party games suck at retail??? If you are a third-party developer you have three possibilities

a) you develop for 46m Wii and you better hit the taste of the Wii community else you will go down in flames
b) you develop for 26m 360 and you better hit the taste of the 360 community else you will really go down in flames
c) you develop for 20m PS3 and you better hit the taste of the PS3 community else you will really really go down in flames
d) you develop for 46m PS360 and invest 10% more than in a 360 or PS3 exclusive. (and most multiplatform games sell about 2:1 360/PS3 if they release simultaneously)

Hard choice. Oh and nobody except Squaresoft et. al. cares about a "slap in the face" if they make a multimillion dollar decision.

Interjected a much needed bit of reality into your post, for greater accuracy.

Zkuq, if that were the case Wii would not have sold more software in 08 than either of its competitors.

No disrespect, but I call bs on that.

Nintendo sold what like 90% of that software not 3rd parties.

Really?

Since from the NPD this what they got..(Note this is the most recent info on wii's 3rd party sales)

For the first 20-months at market, which is pretty much what the above graph shows, this is the breakdown:

  • Wii: 60 million software units total, 56% are third-party units or 33 million (Nov. '06 through June '08)

Former something....
