I suggest brutal clubbing of those so called "hunters"... not to death, of course. Just to show them what they're doing. I wanna see anyone attempting more of this after the "hunters" get what they deserve.

The seal hunt happens for a few reasons. For starters it's how some people up north make their money for the year. Secondly, and most importantly. It's population control. It's to keep the balance. It's no different than some of the other annual hunts. Oh no, they whack them on the head with a bat, boohoo. You'd rather families starve/go on welfare then some cute little furry thing live? Clue in.

These families? those good for-nothings may as well starve. Get a REAL job. Contribute something other than fur for rich bastards.

Population control my ass. Nature has this kind of thing covered, human intervention has only been bad for animals.

Excuse me? But alot of seal fur and blubber goes to Inuit villages in Nunavut, The North-West Territories, northern Quebec and Labrador, and these people are far from 'Rich bastards'.

So I am in favor of the seal hunt, becasue its what keeps these people warm in -50 winters and keeps them fat so they keep even warmer.

Seriosly ask an Inuit what he thinks of the seal hunt and its as natural as turning on a light switch for you or me, dont belittle their way of life, because it isint appropriate for you.

And yes some of these hunters arent Inuit and sell the pelts to high fashion designers and I conceed that that is unacceptable but some hutners help more remote Inuit villages get the fur and blubber they desperatly need.

I demand you correct this for accuracy before I even give you a valid counter-argument.

Do you eat Chicken? Beef? Lamb? You have no fucking right to call off people who are just working to make a living. A REAL job? I'd like to see you do what they do, its not exactly a piece of cake to go out on the ice pans all the time, and many people over the years have died doing so... Show some fucking respect.

BTW the Seal population is doing just fine through all this hunting...

EDIT: In NL Clubbing is almost non-existent, as of late, guns are used instead. The Younger seals are not even allowed to be killed if my memory serves me right....

Nobody goes out, and kills these things for fun, and in NL I believe its illegal to kill then for "Sport" but Im not sure.... Also in most places, only adult seals are allowed to be killed, which are Greyish black, and not white... And even then, they are killed for a loving, providing blubber, skin, bone, and meat for sale.

This was typed in consideration those people do it as a job, not survival as the Inuit as a dude pointed out (these guys deserve espect). Chicken, beef, all that is also a type of survival... food's a necessity, furs aren't to people livingoutside fo those cold zones.

However... other people who do it for expensive furs and profit in general... not survival... well.. what can I say...? hopefully their end is similar.
