As we heard today, FF7 AC Complete is releasing on April 16th (Thursday), with the Final Fantasy XIII Demo.  A special edition PS3 is coming out that has an Advent Children logo on it.

 

So, what are everyone's predictions for the week.  Under MGS4 week for hardware?  Over MGS4 week?

I will be bold. I really think 75-100k is possible. It's the first taste of Final Fantasy in Japan on the PS3. FF13 demo + Cloud + Sephiroth...

I won't be suprised if ps3 skyrockets above 100k on initial week and outsells wii for at least two weeks.

I don't see this happening - Monster Hunter G is coming out April 23rd, the week after this. The game also happens to include a demo for MH3, currently one of the biggest franchises in Japan.

1st week MH3 demo (on the leading console) > 2nd week FFXIII demo!


I can see the PS3 overtaking the Wii, but only for the week. It's only a demo, after all - guessing it'll be pretty frontloaded.

It all depends on how the PS3 is selling before the release. I'm gonna go with 35k.

I expect the effect to be incredibly frontloaded, massive spike (70k-100k) first week then back to normal a week after.

Fans of the series tend to be of the diehard variety in Japan, not getting this demo first week might be seen as a crime punishable by castigation or something....
