I checked the article about PSP games of 2009 on vgchartz today and damn ... What an amazing library! We know that the handheld made an amazing comeback in 2007 in japan (thx to psp2000 and crisis core!) but in the west, the PSP is still a little weak even if hardware sales are "ok". But this year, we have some great SE games (PE3th birthday, dissidia, agito), a sexy level 5 exclusive, some support from sony (resistance retribution, motorstorm and lbp portable) and probably some other good stuff from capcom (RE or DMC portable anyone?). Will it be enough for the PSP or do you think it's almost "impossible" for the handheld to sell software and a lot of hardware in the west?

I agree that the console is getting better when it comes to the game quality and quantity but i don't think these will make much of a difference unless bundled like some million sellers on the console have been.

It is a great handheld, much better than the DS in the Graphics and functionality department but not in the user friendly and loading department. Here's hoping the PSP2 will address these issues along with the piracy!

I don't think there is anything left that will make the PSP sell software in the West. Hardware is a different story but softwares a big no.

Nothing will help the PSP. Where I live tons of people have the PSP and they dont play any games you listed. Their the hip hop kids who listen to music play family guy videos and buy an occasional madden/racing game.

There are millions of people who do what I just said. The PSP as a gaming machine failed. I await PSP 2 where they can fix everything wrong with the PSP.

Wot??? PSP2 in 2009? Are u serious? I really don't think sony's gonna lose some more money in 2009 to launch a new handheld. The PSP is doing fine, it could be better, but it brings cash to sony right now, that's the most important.

Doesn't sell any software in EU or NA, and only moves software in JP.

And doesn't move much hardware (though it's good) in NA or EU, only in JP.

A PSP2 would renew developer interest, and give them a second chance in the handheld realm.
