no, we should expect a big drop for ps3 and just a small one for x360...you are right about that, it's over the reason of this drop that i'm debating: you say it's due to a console shortage, i think that's due to the higher price point (in a weak period the most expensive console is probably the one that's gonna suffer the most) .

Anyway, if you're correct then PS3 should be close to or below 360 in August figures too, so we will see.

we'll see...but mind that looking at consoles sales in Italy during summer is just like watching a "battle of the have-nots": sales are really abysmal.

@Spectrum: So far software sales in July are rather decent. And they are quite a bit higher than last year' averages.
Italy market is growing pretty fast and I wouldn't expect it to slow down much in summer and I'm pretty sure sales won't be abysmal.

just calm down! I've talked about ps3 because someone on this thread was already talking about.

I live in italy and my job brings me to travel a lot. Every shop i visited in the last 2 months (accross 2/3 of the country) has tons of ps3s and few 360s. So before acting like the Omniscient one learn to listen. Xbox360 is growing in italy, i think due to piracy, ps3 is selling poor beacuse the lack of piracy and because people start to understand the xbox has the same games of ps3 and cost much lower. And Nielsen reports this fact. Xbox360 sells more than ps3 in the last 2 weeks, even if ps3 sells almost the same numbers of machines than the previous months.

So 'Metal Gear Solid 4' was at 83.750 units sold on July 27, and probably close to 86.000 on August 03. And it still has not sold its first shipment yet...
7.800 units for 'Soul Calibur IV' across both platform on its first week is very low (but consistent with VGChartz low figures for the game in Europe/Others).
