Forums - Sony - It's Official ATLUS and Persona 4 got a new fanboy

Let me just start this off by saying that im a HUGE Anime fan. From Dragonball Z to Naruto to Kenshin I love em all. So you could imagine my pleasant surprise when I popped in P4 to find a game with a heavy feel of anime in it. Ive been playing for about a few hours and I am loving it. Recently I started a thread about me buying all of the FF's because of Crisis Core well I might have to do the same thing again with Atlus this company is GENIUS

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

P3 is awesome, you won't regret it. Also try the regular SMT games like SMT:Nocturne, DDS & DDS2. Nocturne doesn't have voice acting (which is one of the best things about the persona series) but it's gameplay is unmatched and it's story is as unique as it gets.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Persona 3 and 4's voice acting is very good. very funny in many cases. I wasn't sure if this is why he liked Persona 4 because  he may not find the true gem in SMT:Nocturne if he can't see beyond that (like my cousin lol). I never slighted DDS voice acting, just Nocturne in which case there just isn't any.

Those of us who played JRPGs in the ps1 era where even FF didn't have VA (and even before that) don't care about VA as much as the multitude who were converted to JRPGs by FFX (like my cousin again)

Anything SMT, I would trust even over FF in many cases. However, Atlus has publiched some less than terrific games developed by other companies. I hope you get nocturne too, that game is a classic. I regret selling my copy to this day. I was strapped for cash for more games and couldn't resist the high price nocturne was selling for.
