Well, this is the real world. Until you can travel back in time and undo that first year, it matters.
The higher install base is the reason why multiplats sell more copies on 360.
Multiplats selling better on 360 is the reason why Sony lost so many big name exclusives this gen.
Selling better means devs work harder to make sure that version works, which is one reason why MS gets demos early, gets DLC and in general has the better performing and less buggy version of multiplat games.
All of this combines and paints a picture positive picture for the 360.
The thread is about will the 360 maintain its sales lead. When its getting former exclusives to go multiplat, its gets the better version of most multiplat games and it has its own exclusives to counter the few that the PS3 has, I have to say that it will maintain. Especially when its already 8 million ahead.
You can whine, pout and cry that it only has that 8 million because it came out early, but it still has that 8 million. We can agree on that? Until Marty and Doc Brown go back in time and change that, its always going to have come out first. Even in the year 3399, the 360 will have come out before the PS3. Nothing will change that.

yes more exclusives are going multiplat and multiplats end up selling more on xbox.but if im not mistaken i read loads of storys of microsoft paying money for some of these exclusives and for exclusive downloadable content for these multi plat games so tell me thats not microsoft getting desperate.as sardauk said "microsofts already getting ready for the next price cut"wat does that tell you.cas it tells me microsoft are so desperate to stay ahead of ps3 that there willing to cut into profit and if it was a fight on the school yard theyd throw sand in your face or kick you in the balls to try win.before you say anything yes i know its the real world and a bussiness and the bussiness world is dog eat dog but the more i hear of microsofts antics the more desperate i can see them getting.
anyway the early rushed release microsoft did that destroyed thousands of xboxs and burnt down someones house did work for xbox in the way they have a bigger install base because they are selling more software but no matter how you look at it ps3 was still a year late and is doing great against microsoft and in a year those software issues wont really matter and yes we do get crap ports of games but alot of developers are starting on the ps3 now and will port to the xbox which means xbox will get the crappy ports and because of the space on a blu ray disc probably 2 discs for a game which can bring its own issues to a game
