I totally agree with #3

I would also add the hideous GC controller design to that list, or maybe just the GC as a whole.

I disagree that online is not a big issue.

I LOVE online games, and it ADDS a lot to replay value.

Wiisports online with chat would be amazingly fun.  It's a missed opportunity big time.  The new gamers on Wii don't miss it, but on other systems alll I play really is online games, aside from rpgs.  It's not a minor thing at all.

The beauty of my 360 say being online is that I have many friends that live very far away, seeing as a travel a lot, we can play and talk very easily, and sometimes the chatting is the reason.

Wii Fit online would be cool too.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

@ Rath, I meant that the Wii's graphics are TOO powerful! We don't want amazing graphics this generation. I was hoping for early PS1 level graphics!! Imagine the Wii selling for $199 at launch.......

If you can't provide an adequate argument within a viable context, then you've no argument.

HD Gaming is something that doesn't just affect console cost but development costs. Where as the Wii has become an island of sorts this generation for developers to find sanctuary in, had they embraced HD graphics, they would have severly hindered the Wii's success as it stands and allowed 360 and PS3 to compete with the Wii at their own game, not Nintendo's. In addition, All three consoles embracing HD would have ensured a greater market crash then we are seeing now.

Graphics are not so much the problem for the Wii but developers not trying to make full use of what is there or put serious projects on the Wii. Third Party developers are the greatest X-factor this generation for the Wii.

@ Rath

I hated it, had less buttons the both the PS2 & Xbox controller. So multiplat games suffered horribly on the GC, often removing things due to lack of buttons. Plus that C analog/button was stupid, and was rarely used well

The OP listed things that in one way or another hurt Nintendo's profits and/or its image. While we can all come up with things we wish they did with the Wii, there is simply nothing they have done with the Wii to keep it from being all win for them,

As for the GCN controller, I loved it. Felt great to hold and the differently shaped (but well placed) buttons were a great convenience.

Gee, Onimusha. I made my list in about 30 seconds. I'm not here to argue. Heck, I'm posting from my Wii right now (wich is why I can't edit or quote)! Don't take me seriously!! Apparently, this is a serious thread. I'll take my goodhearted antics elsewhere!!

I just think it's weird that Nintendo went from a gaming company, to an assissantion company. Seems weird to go from making mario, to killing employees, but oh well! That's wacky Nintendo for ya, gotta love em.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

the wii didn't have to be as powerful as the hd consoles but powerful enough to be able to port it games. a single core 3.2ghz 512DDR2 ram would have been enough. but nintendo decide to get bigger profits.

also trying to port a ps360 game would require to make everything again, from the engine textures,  modeling ,animations etc with the wii as it's now.

its not developers not trying to push it, but it would bring their profits down making a wii version also the wii demographic is a blue ocean even having double the sales of the ps3 any third party, fifa, madden shooters, any "hardcore" title sell better in it.

porting from ps3 <-->360 is easy , cut the resolution a bit, tweak the physics AI,etc.

its better to make a wii dedicated exclusive marketed to the demographic, that will likely bring profits.
