When will half life 2: episode 3 come out?

I am almost done with episode 2 on the orange box, so I would like to know. Also, will be be available for consoles?

Not soon enough

In an October 2008 interview, Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi stated that news or an announcement of Episode Three might be revealed near the end of 2008.[7] It wasn't, but Lombardi had previously stated that "the next time you play as Gordon will be longer than the distance between HL2 to Ep1, and Ep1 to Ep2."[7]

gameplay wise, or in-game wise? Totally different. I mean, does this mean gordon gets transported further into the future than in the base game?

I wish it was already out. Also it may be out for the 360, doubt it will be out for PS3. Unless it's ported by EA.

They mostly want to do other projects but I do think it was stupid and bad of them to say to us that these episodes would make them develop games for us faster.

I think it'll be out end of this year or next year. Half life 1 to 2 took 6 years, if episode 3 comes out in 2010 then that will be 6 years from Half Life 2. They said these episodes combine will be like "half life 3" so waiting 6 years for all of them is ok to some degree.

I didn't like ep1 and ep2, i hope ep3 is much better... Too bad i spent full retail in The Orange Box to enjoy only Portal (I had the original HL2 already)...

Really? I really njoyed Ep2. It was far better than the preview 2 instalments.

Ep2 is better than Ep1, but i don't know, i didn't like them as much as HL2, and it didn't help that i played both eps after Portal (i was mind-blowed by that game)...

well, the fact that epi. 1 is only 1/4th as long as the first HL2 might have to do with the fact that it's not as memorable..
