I work for Amazon, at their #1 distribution center in the world.

This center sees the majority of their videogaming, DVD, and book-related content.

 

Each time something goes on sale for their Gold Box, if it's an item that passes through my building, we see TONS AND TONS of this item approximately a week before it goes on sale. I called it ON THE DOT for when the Angel (Buffy spinoff) series collection went on sale, and I called it ON THE DOT when Stargate SG-1 series collection went on sale (and I subsequently bought it).

 

Today, we saw TONS AND TONS of Xbox Live 12-month +1 Gold membership subscription cards (long enough name, eh?) pass through. We're talking ten cards per box, 200 boxes per pallet, and at least ten pallets full of 'em. That's over 20,000 cards (and that's just what I saw... there was likely plenty that I DIDN'T see). I can guarantee they'll be going on sale next week. I'm not sure when, but judging by the fact that we had so many pass through today, and we see the most 7 days before they go on sale, I'd expect it'll go on sale next Friday as the Gold Box item of the day.

 

Count on it. I guarantee it'll be extra cheap sometime next week.

I wouldn't doubt it. They are probably going to be going for around $29.99. I picked up one from Buy.com for that price last week, and I think somewhere else had them for that price as well. Looks like someone is really trying to push those memberships.

Yeah, Wal-Mart also had 'em at $29.99.

I dunno, though. They've already got 'em at $38.99, so that's only a $9 price-drop. While Amazon occasionally does their gold-box at that little of a price-drop, they usually do more.

I'd estimate $24.99 to $27.99.

Thanks for the heads up my subscription ends in 3/09 so I may pick up 2 or 3 of these to keep me going till the 720 comes out.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
