Forums - Microsoft - Fallout 3 VS. Fable 2

I haven't played fallout 3 but i don't really want to, it looks like a POS *IMO*, so definitely fable 2 for me.

For me, both are awesome. I love both of them, but for the gamer with hours to spare, FO3. For the gamer who wants a quick hit, Fable 2.

Haven't got fallout 3 yet, but fable 2 isn't as good as expected. 1st it's too easy, 2nd it's too short.

Fable 2 was fun until I realised I couldn't die.  Pointless and boring after that revelation.  Got the achievements.

Fallout 3 was incredible, and tense.  10 times bigger, 10 times more exciting, 10 times better looking.  And I can't wait for DLC.

Fallout 3 GOTY.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

You defanitly should get fallout 3! But both are great.

lol that last comment was funny and wrong

I bought a lot of games this year, and Fable 2 was probably my least favorite of all of them. That's not to say it's a bad game, because it's not. But it's too easy. I felt like I was being led through the game and did not have to use my brain for anything. Yes, you can turn the gold "path" off, but the game was really not designed to be played that way, even though it is fun to wander around and look for gargoyles and demon doors and stuff.

Fallout 3 is a game designed to be meticulously explored, and doing so gives a different result each time you sit down to play. In fact, you won't make it far into the game if you don't explore. All you can do to make it is explore all the wreckage and find what you can to survive. And the coolest thing about the game is that it's actually believable. It's about a century into the future, the technology is not that far fetched, and the landscape is just downright scary. The country could actually look like that if there was a real nuclear war.

So in closing, Fable 2 is light and fluffy, and Fallout 3 is gritty and disturbing. Both good games, but Fallout 3 is just worlds beyond Fable 2.

yeah having a weapon that launches mini nukes
