I think people are still missing the point that he's talking about visuals, not about game quality (or maybe it's me who doesn't understand the OP and this is in fact a gameplay discussion?).

I was referring to graphics use/visuals, not gameplay.  It's still weird that the best looking Wii games were supposed to be released in 07..

Pixel Art can be fun.

I don't find it too weird.  Typically it takes a few years before 3rd parties are making better quality visuals and all that than 1st party becuase it is their architecture.  AND THIS IS NINTENDO WE ARE TALKING ABOUT, so an even bigger hump to pass.

But it is a bit surprising that Animal Crossings doesn't seem to have that smooth polish that galaxy has in its art.  Its like they were making the game for the gamecube and then just pumped up the resolution.

@Smoked: Yes, that's true, but look at Madworld, Fragile, Little King's Story, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Monster Hunter 3, Kizuna, Fatal Frame IV, Punch Out, Cursed Mountain and others. 3rd parties are putting more effort in their Wii games.

We will get lots of good looking games from 20089 onwards and the best part of this is (at least to me), that many of them will have an individual art style.

Punch Out is third party?  Anyway, I see what you mean.  I prefer unique art styles over graphics technology.  It's just that so few used the Wii's tech to its potential.  Oh well.. -sobs-

i think punch-out is kinda second party. nintendo licensed a third party dev to make it, but i think nintendo still owns the rights to it.

I mean, everybody knows that Mario Kart is more fun than Brawl ;P

It's a shame that all the online playtime statistics show Brawl as being played nearly twice as much then.

thats just cause people leave the game on when they sleep to get the trophy thing for 100 hours played.  No one actually plays Brawl, that would be dumb.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

I thought Brawl's final delay was due primarily to Sonic, as well as fine-tuning the online play (which obviously didn't work)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
