I'd get the PC versions if I were you (liked the controls better and the visuals are better as well), the games themselves are fantastic, actually! They get better with each installment imo!

Make sure to get Choas Theory. It's the best one in my opinion. The gameplay is great, and really brought stealth games to the next level. Also when it's emulated on the 360, Chaos Theory looks damn near like a 360 game. The lighting is unbelievable.

Funny thing. Since I didn't play any splinter cell game before, I took the tip from this topic and checked IGN's review of the first splinter cell game for the gamecube. Since it came after the xbox version, it is full of comparisons between them. So what they say is that graphically, it is inferior to the xbox version, but the controls are better. Did you play both versions or are you just guessing?

You're correct on that one, but he's correct on the other three Splinter Cells. Look at the Metascores:
1. Xbox: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (2005) 94
Ubisoft
2. Xbox: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (2004) 93
Ubisoft
3. Xbox: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (2002) 93
Ubi Soft
4. GameCube: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (2003) 89
Ubi Soft
5. Xbox: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent (2006) 89
Ubisoft
6. GameCube: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (2005) 81
Ubisoft
7. GameCube: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (2004) 78
Ubisoft
8. GameCube: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent (2006) 64
Ubisoft
The difference in scores is too large a gap to chalk up to coincidence. GC ports of Splinter Cell are of a much lower quality than their Xbox counterparts, except for the first. However, going back to play the original SPlinter Cell is a bit pointless because everything was improved in the sequels, ten fold.
@Onyxmeth
Ohh thanks! Yeah... the other games show a huge difference in score. I should have looked at those also.
In my case, I think I'll play from the first one. I'm not in a rush to finish all of them. :) Ohhh... and I only have a wii, so I'll have to play the low quality versions... :(

You sure your PC can't run them? Maybe at least the first one? I wouldn't want you to get turned away from a fantastic series because of inferior ports. At least promise not to play Double Agent on GC or the Wii version. I heard both were shit on a stick disguised as a fudge pop.

My computer might be able to run these games, but I need to check if they run well on wine. I'm a linux user.
Again, thanks for the tip. Running on the PC should be better. :)
