Forums - Gaming - Microsoft comments on NPD December (EPIC FAILURE)

"Microsoft is pretty positive about the Xbox 360s showing in December, calling it "the biggest month for Xbox 360 in history." The company boasts outselling its Sony competition two-to-one for the holiday quarter."

"generated more life-to-date dollars at retail for third-party publishers than the PS3 and Wii combined"

- in Kotaku

---> Microsoft being a bunch of desperated clowns confirmed.

They mention the Wii in the software front, but they don't mention it in the hardware front. Seems the the Wii is "out of this gen" for hardware but not for software.

To celebrate this EPIC FAILURE (registered trademark of Microsoft Co.) I've been told that the staff at Microsoft has bought a bunch of this:

LOL Nice spin

Something is wrong with you here...

Name me one company which mentions things they are not beating their competition in their press statements.

Its up to nintendo to say... "we generated more dollars with hardware sold then all of the gaming systems put together"

Im sure nintendo wouldn't dare mention software sales revenue.

So you can give yourself a nice stamp of "Uncalled for Bullshit".

Micrsoft? Spin?

Wait what?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Is Sony actually still making these NPD responses? I'm curious how they would spin it.

It's called spin, everyone does it.

And WoW wins this thread.

I'm with you on the rest, but Nintendo does say this. Repeatedly. Because they've been selling more games, even third-party, than the 360 for a few months now, and they're not shy about saying that.

You may have noticed that Microsoft says "more life-to-date dollars at retail for third-party publishers," thus introducing two big qualifiers: Life-to-date (remember the headstart) and "dollars" (Remember that 360 games are more expensive).

But it's like you said: the purpose of PR is to make yourself look good, so that's why Microsoft is saying what they're saying, while being careful not to lie.
