Forums - PC - Novint Falcon: Motion controller for the hardcore gamer!

I saw this thing a while ago on some gamer show, it looked pretty interesting for PC gaming, but its just as useless as motion controls for console gaming.

Hehe...I don't know man. I think you'd love playing Killzone 2 with something like that and the peripheral already released for ps3 below. Just instead of the mouse...have this motion controller

But where would you put something like this when you are leaning back on your couch or something.  You would need a desk or to be sitting upright to use it correctly.  Its the same problem with motion controls in any game.  And how long would it take to master the motion controls of such a device.  I could still never even figure out the wii motion controls and i have spent about 30 hours with it.

Wow. I sit back when I play MP3. I also think I may be the worst gamer on these forums and I haven't had problems like you describe. The point of these types of control devices is that you shouldn't have to figure anything out.

I think that players over do the motion to motion control based games and then call the controls bad without learning how to play.

At the end its whatever keeps you entertain.

If the point of motion controls is to make it so you don't need to figure things out then why make controlling the games so hard.  You need to hold the controller at a specific angle or move it in a specific direction to get the desired result, this is not easy.  Pressing A or X, up or down on a normal controller is pretty simple.  I could not even begin to tell you how many times i died in SMG trying to get mario or the camera where i wanted them.
