Forums - PC - Novint Falcon: Motion controller for the hardcore gamer!

Novint Falcon! (Google it) I got to play with this at a freind of a friends place today. He let me play FEAR as well as Crysis on his PC using this thing-a-ma-jig and honestly...Why haven't I heard of this before!!@?

This is how motion controls should be done for FPS games. Its accurate as fuck and its made specifically fpr FPS games and it actually enhances the gameplay for those games. It doesn't try to do it all but it does one thing and does it well.

Why hasn't MS or Sony made this available for their consoles? Anyone else plays games with this?

Id buy it for my 360 in a second no matter what it costs. While this obviously wouldn't work for the whole stick waggling aspect of motion controls, keyboard + this > Wiimote for FPS games by a huge margin.

how cute - it's like a wiimote but less confortable, has fewer buttons, less versatile, more expensive, easier to break, less aesthetically pleasing.

Ok, I'm going to stop hacking on it now.

Tried one out at a Fry's, it's pretty awesome and I love how it rumbles to add recoil.

1. Not true. this thing is more confortable than wii mote for FPS games

2. True, but why is this all of a sudden bad? Wiimote has less buttons than ps360 controllers no?

3. True

4. True, but you're getting your moneys worth

5. Doubt it. You wont break your TV with this.

6. err...I guess

The bottom line is that you wouldn't believe the accuracy of this thing. Makes Wii mote before the 1:1 thing is released look like power glove. Its expensive...and only does FPS games...but the hardcore gamers out there with 4000 dollar pcs don't lsoe sleep over spending a little more for soemthing cool as this.

I've never understood people who felt that WASD was superior to an analog stick for movement.

I mean, digital movement? For reals?

I think it has to do with what you get used to first no?

I did a lot of gaming on pcs around the quake, duke nukem era. Then i did lots of analog stick stuff around dreamcast, ps2, xbox and 360...

I think they are equal. Both work fine for me.

I highly doubt that when Microsoft and Sony get motion controls that they will look anything like this.

Wow that does look awesome, I think what may be hindering it's implementation on consoles is the fact you need to be sitting up at a desk??

This looks really cool too.

I dont really care what motion controls ms and sony come out with...

All I want is the ability to use this...like a 3rd party peripheral or something. It may look funny to you and everyone else that hasn't used it, but you really can't imagine the quality of this product by just looking at it...

that looks quite stylish... I'd have to play it to see if it as good. It only supports 3 games tho...
