The only problem I had with The Orange Box on PS3 was loading times, it made me lose too much time...
It's childishness at the very best form. They nitpick issues in games to prove who's console is the best. Just like when little boys are arguing about who's dad is the best. Very sad.
People like to argue.
I personally complain about games today because the things I care about (framerate, gameplay that has original ideas and also doesn't hold your hand) have been tossed away for things I don't give a shit about (shiny graphics that will look weak three years from now, generic stories people hail as amazing, cutscenes and QTE).

just looking for a way to justify their purchase and make other feel bad. like ha ha mine takes 2 seconds to load while yours take 4. why dont' you go to the bathroom while you wait on your shitty 360/ps3
but heck yea i don't care. My favorite games a lot have more than 1 disc. Is it so hard to get up once every 20 hours to swap discs, or to wait those couple seconds.
I would take all of those over having bugs, install or many other things. 480p, 60fps, 4 discs is fine with me.

Back then they had it easy, they probably used their fingers and toes to count the pixels.
If the "why is everyone..." refers to people who post here, it would be an indication of the type of people who read this Website. This website's drawing card is videogame sales. People who happen to read this site, and follow it to the extent they will post, are hardcore videogame fans. Hardcore fans care about every little thing and are picky. Wrong pixel here and there can be a big deal, as a one time frame rate dip in an entire game. Go to a home theater fanatic website, and you will have High Def movies being a big deal, where Blu-Ray on a 24" in portable monitor would be a BIG deal. Actually the complain would probably be not over the image quality, but more like they were forced to watch the moving on a tiny 24" screen.
It goes with the territory. And this territory has people ripping the Wii's graphics a new one on here, when the Wii selling as it has, seems to show people they don't care as much. Same with PS2 sales STILL holding up today, even if they are off. And the sales being off are likely due to the software development drying up, than the image quality.

And you see it with every game these days, frame rates, resolutions, load speed, sales, etc etc.I just wonder if people are making stuff up, exaggerating, or did they actually play these games and Hulk out because a certain pixel was not the shade of Crimson they wanted it to be?
What do you people think? Are all these claims justified or what (across all games with bad reps)? Do you really think people could tell the different or make these claims if no one else said anything?
I personally think everyone is full of **it.
btw I see these claims on both HD systems(so no Sony sucks, microsoft sux comments, not really a good arguement to the issue). Also Lair was probably the only game that was unplayable before a patch, cuz I kno someone will bring that up. |
Why are people anal about food or music or coffee or liquor or art? There will always be conniseurs that demand the utmost quality out of their product. Listen to music geeks talk about everything that goes into their sound system and music format and people wanting 30-60fps will seem easy to please by comparison.
