From the article: "If this is what developers can do without thinking about the XBox, then lets never go back to dual platform"
That'll never happen, but that's a mighty fine compliment to GG.

But games are NOT books or films. Should books and films be given low marks because they have very weak (actually, non-existant) gameplay?

Games are interactive movies. Storyline should come before or at least equal to gameplay.

No joke. Rob Smith from Playstation Mag said it.

Choose Your Own Adventure had gameplay... Those books rocked! A little weak on the story though. Imagination filled in the left out parts, so it wasn't really a problem for me back in the day.

Lets's go back to basics then.. Movies = motion pictures. games =interactive motion pictures (images in motion that is interactive is what constitutes a game) i.e Games = interactive movies.
Personally I liked playing Resistance 2 more then Bioshock ( A shooter with a great story). Modern day shooters focus so much on complete immersion and edge-of-your-seat action that its tough to tell a good story. Even if there is one, it tends to get lost in the non-stop chaotic action. Thats why I love shooters with great combat mechanics and multiplayer. If I want a good story I would play something like Fallout 3 or Mass Effect.
Can't wait for the multiplayer of KZ2.

MGS series is the only Interactive Movie xD
@McStormy1
Games = interactive movies
Thats only partially true. I would say thats correct for a game like Uncharted or even MGS4 which have incredibly detailed storylines.
However a game like Fallout 3, which has a deep story, isn't really an interactive movie. RPGs focus on utter and complete immersion into their world which can be played with almost like a real one.
Shooters on the other hand are a completely different breed. Shooters will tend to have the story as secondary and really are something like a 3d virtual version of a games like paintball or lazer tagging (multiplayer). There are exceptions, of course, but these seem to be the broad categories emerging.
