Killzone 2 To Change Expectations For PS3 Developers

Killzone 2 is only about a month away from launch here in the U.S. and has already made an enormous amount of buzz around the internet. People cannot wait to get their hands on the game that is supposed to finally show the true power of the PS3. With this new found power that Guerrila Games has managed to grasp from the system, I ask developers: Is it time to change your expectations of the PS3?

We all knew the system was powerful, but nothing truely set it apart from the XBOX 360 as for gameplay it self. We had a mere glimpse at the power with MGS4 but it still never made the PS3 a more powerful system. Now with Killzone 2, things may begin to change. They have managed to raise the bar on the graphical and physical design of a game developed for the PS3. Developers will begin to see what Guerrila has managed to achieve and will strive to do just the same if not better. As we move into 2009 will we finally begin to see a difference between the 360 and PS3? Or is Killzone one of its kind?

I think we will see a difference in 2009. I think however it will be a minimal difference but I feel Uncharted 2 will increase the gap.

killzone 2 will be a epic game but look how long it took them to make this game. other devs dont have 4 years to make a game.
but yes this should open the devs eyes about the PS3

We should hope that Killzone 2 does not change people's expectations from developers... Not all developers should be expected to spend 4 years making a high-budget game while having some of the best technical engineers working on it. It's just not feasible and it would lead to more pain in the gaming business, and an alienation of the PS3 among developers.

well 1st thing to bear in mind overall gameplay isnt really enhanced with better grafix..........everyone knows that, but on a grafical technical level some of the games out this yer on ps3 are looking to be outstanding, just check the trailer in my sig i cnt belive how good killzone looks. i highly doubt that u could achive those visuals on any other console system. i hope final game turnes out ace. its a day purchase for me, ive preordered socom and killzone..................what a superb start to 2009 on ps3

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

LOL, This isn't just about Killzone 2. Its about what the future holds for PS3 ;)

now that they've made a PS3 game, though, it shouldn't take as long for the next one.
