Forums - Sony - MS hints at decline in third-party PS3 support

i just really hate the way MS does business. between this and trying to spread a ps3 price drop rumor MS really are the assholes of this business. well, i can do much but MS isn't getting a cent more of my video game money cause i'm voting for the other guys.

That is so sad. What do you think competing companies should do, praise the competition? I just love how ms does business.

I don't get it ... the PS3 is over 3M units ahead of the 360 world wide if you align their launches

That's really irrelevant, however.  The Xbox 360 has the "First mover advantage" -- you can't simply suggest that it doesn't mean anything to have a bigger installed base because the system is a year older.

Given their matching tech, the Xbox 360 and the PS3 can pretty much be expected to have the same life span.

Instead of going on pages and pages arguing.....how about we just all ignore Aaorn Greenberg, as I have. He's worse than David Reeves....waaaaaaaaaaay worse

How is he being an evil arrogant bastard when what he says perhaps may be 100% truthful?

Either:

A: PS3 third party support is declining.

or

B: PS3 third party support is not declining.

Since this is a direct statement, he probably has some information to back this up so really whats wrong with making such a statement?

Tease.

there is a huge difference between praising the competition and starting damaging rumors about the competition.

hypothedical: say we are both interviewing for the same job.  i start a rumor at that company we're interviewing for that you are a pedofile.  would that be fair?  i mean, we are in competion for the same job so obviously i shouldn't praise you but is it fair game to start a false and damaging rumor about you?

i say no.  my money says no.

btw: fixed an error in my original post (bolded)

What is there not to get. It is all marketing.

Microsoft is right. Developing a PS3 exclusive game is financial suicide.

I dunno about abandoning the ps3, but multiplats will be the way forward from now on

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

It would be suicidal for third party HD developers to go with only one HD system this generation. If they made a game that has a proven track record, they could get away with it, but new titles would not survive on one platform. This year will be tough for new titles, mainly because of the economy. Why spend $60 bucks on a new title if CoD: Modern Warfare 2 was just around the corner?
