Because some people are... what's the word... touchy? sensitive?

young? paranoid?

I'd just leave it at some people being touchy about their hobbies.

Anyways, a healthy reminder to everyone: PR is by definition a load of crap, treat it as such.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

for the moment though its obvious the Wii won't be getting 50% marketshare anytime soon

Are you kidding? It will be there by April. Q2 soon enough? At 49.3 % currently, most devs already equate that to 50%, as it's close enough for them to believe that the Wii has conquered this gen. But this is not here nor there.

nonsense

So you agree with Greenberg? Otherwise your doom and gloom is unfounded.

And if you dont agree with Greenberg then why will deveopers stop developing HD games now, given that the hd install base is 47million, increasing to 67 million by the end of 2009.

Are you suggesting it is less attractive developing games now the install base is double what it was 18 months ago?

And far from losing the hearts and minds of most gamers... Id suggest that far more traditional gamers are actually resident in the hd arena than the wii arena.

Thats a fact that is actually not even open to debate as there are more hd consoles installed and everyone accepts that the wii has cornered the new more casual gamers (aswell as traditonal gamers).

I don't have to agree with Greenberg to see how what he says is nonsense.

And I didn't say that developers would stop developping HD games if Greenberg is wrong. I'm saying they are killing themselves already with their HD projects, and are going down left and right. If what Greenberg says is true, it would only be worse.

Anyway, I'll leave it at that (and wait to see if I'm right or wrong), as I can't discuss with anyone that actually believes that HD is a platform, like when you do a game for one HD console, it automagically works for the other or just need a LOL worthy 5% port cost (!!). This is complete nonsense to me, and you can't reach a sensible conclusion with nonsensical assumptions like those.

So MS just admitted to paying off 3rd parties for exclusives?

That is quite a shocker, I thought MS earned those games through dedication and hard work.

hahahahahaha.

omg hahaha.

seeing how porting a game over to the ps3, from 360, is a matter of a few thousand dollars and the reward can be upwards of million of millions of dollars i don't see why devs will stop making making games for it.

hello how are you.

For the last damn time, only idiots are going to make threads about what Greenberg says anymore. Even then, only idiots CARE what he has to say.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Ok, let's ignore nearly 20 million people!

Greenberg is seriously getting on my nerves now. He's extremely arrogant if he thinks an 8.5 million console lead is going to lead to a decline in third party support for the PS3.

The Xbox beat the Gamecube by like 4 million or so, and the Cube barly got any 3rd party support.

In the US at least I could easily see this happening. As the recession rolls on retailers are going to start stocking a less diversified lineup, as they bank more on items that will make a profit than a diverse lineup. The PS3 as the lowest selling system in America with the worst attachment ratio will see drastically reduced shelf space.
