Confirmed? Confirmed from a rumor from one site? I was speculating, but you're really going to claim that Rockstar will release a GTA game (in the main series no less) on the Wii? There are several reasons it could be released that soon, as I explained. It could be a spinoff GTA with an engine very similar to GTA4. There have only been two announced downloadable content packs so far, and that's never stopped a developer from making a sequel (or another game) before.

I'd expect the first round of downloadable content for GTA4 this Feb as scheduled, which means that it's taken close to 10 months to get Lost & the Damned released. This may mean that the 2nd lost of DLC will be ready for Xmas 09. Maybe that's what the rumour will end up being, the 2nd campaign for GTA4 at the end of the year.
Anyone thinking that Rockstar is going to go PS3 exclusive on a GTA any time soon is clearly mentally retarded as they are underperforming financially and had the 360 version sell much more than the PS3. Not to mention the added income on it's way from the DLC, you really think they can afford to turn down all that money?

Well, why not? As it's said in the initial post, Vice city was released only a year after GTAIII! I hope they'll make something ala vice city, with flashing clothes, lights, whores and whatever you want!
As long as it won't be as boring as GTA IV, I don't really care when it comes out.
