ToV probably would have sold at least 2x as much on the PS3, and just in Japan, no less. I'm glad I got it for my 360 though -- I doubt it will ever see the light of day on the PS3.

First, and last, Tales game on the 360... confirmed.  All PSWii from here on out for the Tales series, I think.

Japan can do without the 360, tbh. It's a total flop over there. It's only achievement has been doing better than last gen. MS, luckily, is at least attempting to capture some of the Playstation JRPG core fandom that a lot of us have in our hearts. That's why they are doing this(buying jrpgs). Because Playstation fans like them. Not because Microsoft fans like them. Truth be told, it won me over to an extent, so good for them. It's not like anyone else matters to me anyway. :P

I am a fan of the Tales series but was greatly disappointed with Vesperia... To reach out to Western gamers they should have put a LOT more effort into the game...budget 360 titles don't sell well.

Well that's a bummer. I may not like the game very much, but I know many people did and the idea that more people who might have enjoyed it will now never be able to experience it is pretty sobering.

No, I can see that.  Vesperia removed a lot staples of the Tales series. An angsty teenage cast, poor character development, lack of character variety in both personality and play-style, bad pacing. 

A true Tales fan may hate Vesperia.

I'd argue that in that sense the game is as true to form as you could want, except that the characters aren't teenagers.
