Forums - Sales - Is Square-Enix making a mistake making 360 there go to system for rpgs?

When the game was announced they said it was coming to the nextgen-systems, for a couple of months we didn’t know to which platforms it was coming, and I think that during this time period Microsoft made a deal with S-E to hold back the PS3 version, but hey, it’s just the impression that I have and I could be wrong. Anyway, most next-gen RPG’s have started there development on the PC, since the developers didn’t have development kits for the nextgen consoles.

Every politic enters politics for two reasons. One is power and the other is money and Zaplana is no exception, but I agree with most of his ideas and without people like him I won’t vote the national popular party again. I will still vote for Esperanza Aguirre in Madrid for 2011 and the candidate from UPyD for mayor. Yes, I hate Gallardón.

So basically they were doing high-level design work independent of platform. By the way, Tri-Ace has always called the shots on Star Ocean, no Squeenix. Tri-Ace is an independent development team that takes its own decisions. They just happen to have a publishing deal with SE. Whatever deals MS had in place with SE they would just take into account SE internally developed games.

All/almost all games are developed using PC's, but that's not the same as developing it for the pc.

That’s what they say, and believe them since there games aren’t as mainstream Square-enix one’s. By the way, I believe that Yosuke Saito is the one that always makes the deals between Square-enix and Tri-ace.

And that’s not what I’m saying. Everyone knows that you need a PC to develop a game. What I’m saying is that Capcom for example started the development of Devil May Cry 4 on the PC because they just didn’t have the development kit for the PS3, and I believe that Square-enix said the same about FFXIII, once they decided to bring it to the PS3.

Yeah, but that has no special significance. It's like saying "all movies are made with cameras". Games are developed on pc's. You either are not properly communicating your point or there's no point to be made about this at all.
