Didn't race pro got an 6 from OXM?

Yeah, OXM gave it a 6 and OXM UK gave it 8.

The game is out in February and we are already talking about past reviews? When was it reviewed,in december?

Give me the link and I will believe you,but don`t try to downplay a AAA racing game that MS was smart to secure it exclusive.

No, the February 2009 editions of both reviewed them according to metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/racepro?q=race%20pro

You seen the reviewers comments?

"Its monk-like devotion to pure racing simulation is remarkable...and kind of a turn-off for the rest of us. [Feb 2009, p.80]"

"Ultimately, if you can put up with the fact that it's aesthetically rough around the edges, you're unlikely to find a more viscerally rewarding racing experience than RACE Pro. [Feb 2009, p.78]"

"RACE Pro has compelling racing mechanics when it is just you versus the track, but it has more than a few rough patches elsewhere."

"This makes any gameplay not related to racing essentially meaningless."

AKA kickass racing gameplay, they are taking points off it because of graphics and hardcore racing gameplay. Which is what Simbin always delivers.

I just stated the scores, I said nothing else about the game, no need to get worked up.

No one's getting worked up. It's just that the scores alone don't tell the whole story for this one.

edit: ok, I got worked up on this one a bit, but it's because it bugs me that simbin will deliver the most realistic racing simulator and people will largely ignore it while arguing wether GT or Forza is the most realistic sim.

"hardcore racing gameplay" ? SimBin always delivers a hardcore racing gameplay in ALL it`s games, because they are hardcore racing developers.

If they gave it a bad score because of the hardcore gameplay, what will GT5 and Forza 3 get? The red carpet treatment?

is this a remake of gt3 or forza 1?? rofl....the graphics looks like i'm going back to a ps2 or xbox...wat a waste of time this game looks like...they should have sent it straight to wii....isn't this the same "Race" game series that was on Steam for PC??...if it is...oh god...wat a horrible this game will turn out to be...steering wheel won't even help out with the fun factor...

Forza 3 and GT5 will get better scores because they are less of a sim, thus more accessible. Also the graphics and huge marketing budgets/hype campaigns will help.

Graphics look decent to me. And, there should be room for realism in racing games. Ok, the game isn't accessible to everyone, but how about some realism with it? I am feeling like Gran Turismo has pseudo-realism that fanboys hype as ultimate realism, but it isn't, and then rationalize the lack of car damage to be, "Well, if you can't do it great, it is better to ignore it". Well, here are the features of the the game:
http://videogames.atari.com/racepro/#/us/features/

Highly detailed damage realistically affects handling sounds like a good thing for people who want realism.

And this review seems to be decent also, and states what it is (US OXM):
Its monk-like devotion to pure racing simulation is remarkable...and kind of a turn-off for the rest of us. [Feb 2009, p.80] (from Metacritic)

Again, I think people may cry for realism, but they actually want an arcade game that makes them feel like it is real, even it is not. Like myself, I want a racing game where I NEVER have to EVER use the break. This is NOT realistic at all.

So true...unfortunately. Race Pro will sell very well, but it will not have the hype of those games...and it will not have the "not so real" gameplay,so it will be an unique game where you love it or hate it.

I love it,btw

I see it on EB and Amazon brand New for $40!
