I believe that would be Pokemon Red.

Yes...this is classic.  And also still one of my favorite games ever.  I actually bought a SNES and this game, as well as Chrono Trigger about 2 years ago just to have the joy of playing through it again.  Unfortunately, I was way too young to care about taking care of things when I had it and played it the first time..so..yeah.

It all began with Shining in the Darkness on Genesis. :)

I think I'm going to have to go with Dragon Warrior also. I may check my older brother's NES collection to see if any others were before it that I played. Actually. . .Faxanadu released relatively close to it (within the same year) in the USA, so maybe I played that one before it. It's also quite possible there was a computer based RPG I played before that. Don't recall anything I would consider RPG on our Atari 2600.

super mario rpg then pokémon games then quest 64

besides the battles system on quest 64, i think it's quite a fun game

still play it from time to time

i still dont feel pokémon is a full blown rpg as u only manipulate moves w/ TM's and HM's

i still hate the fact that you can only have 4 f*N moves!

yah, well i guess that complicates the simplicity of it, i dont knoe

last i finished a pokémon game was silver/gold

mystic quest on the original game boy
