Well... the only things I don't expect at all is that they will somehow increase the sales without a price drop or that they will decrease the price to anything that does not give them profit. I also don't think they can decrease the manufacturing price in the rate they've done until now as they did a big internal cleanup already, but I also don't know how these things evolve to say for certain.
What don't you expect at all?

All the things you just enumerated, and I would add that I don't expect them to be profitable this year unless the yen weakens (except perhaps in the last quarter).

Nothing is a lock the way Sony's finances are. We can't even begin to imagine what they'll have to do to get the company closer to profitability. Not cutting prices is the easiest thing they can do.

This.
Seriously, the reality of Sony's financial situation hasn't sunk in with a number of you. Less emphasis on price cutting and more emphasis on general health of the company should be the concern if you are a TRUE Sony or PS3 fan.

execpt maybe 2 usb the 80g and 160g are not doing bad at all in sales if u compare them to the 360s 60g and 120g only it's that arcade model thats taking all the sales from sony

Are you kidding me about this price cut again. First thing first sony needs to make money not pleased fanboy instead pleased the major investors and stockholders. Mostly likely sony will make different models, color or bundle. Price cut atm will make a lot of major investors and stockholders even more angry and stop investing without showing hard substantial ROI at this point.
One of the best ways to reduce manufacturing costs would be a slim model. I just don't know if it's possible yet... Anyway, I'm sure they're looking for a way to release a SKU with even less stuff to save money. Dropping WLAN would be the first thing but it's pretty hard to think of anything else. Of course they could drop the price of the worst model with no WLAN and a 80GB HDD to some $329/399€ and drop the price of the main SKU with WLAN, a 120GB HDD and a HDMI cable plus one older hit game to some $359/359€. Then they could release a new SKU with WLAN, a 160GB HDD, a HDMI cable, four USB ports, memory card slots and a new hit game at some $449/449€. Or something. Details may vary but something like that could be a decent solution, though Sony would have to adapt a multi-SKU strategy which they haven't adapted very well yet.

Sony can't afford one in NA/Europe very well but they need it; thus, a cut wouldn't surprise me though I wouldn't be too hopeful yet. Sony can afford a cut in Japan but they don't need it; thus, a cut would surprise me.
