try CCleaner.com

That should help with cleaning Firefox. I run mine every day.

This is what I use as well (though, not as often).

if my wife only knew what i was looking at ...lol

Lol. I don't have that "problem" yet, but I suppose I'll be using it a lot more in a few years.

Backup your bookmarks in your firefox profile, delete your profile, start firefox again, quit firefox, put your bookmarks back in the new, fresh firefox profile. Starting with a fresh profile often fixes strange firefox problems in my experience.

Your profile will be located at:

"C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(a bunch of random letters/numbers followed by .default" for windows xp, and

"C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(a bunch of random letters/numbers followed by .default" for windows vista .

Your profile is the "bunch of random letters/numbers .default" directory. Your bookmarks should be named "bookmarks.html" in that directory, if you want to back them up to keep them.

Just go into My computer, find your drive with all your main information (mine is the C drive), right click it and pick Disk Cleanup, it'll probably take a while to do if you have a slow computer but it should work this way.

lol I don't go on porn sites on my PC ;)

Btw, I tried CCleaner and it seems it works but since my history is ginormous it was taking too long so I just canceled it for now. I'll try to delete it later.

I need to get this PC reformatted X_X Where is my Windows disc...?

you can always do a system restore from when you first got your computer

ohh them dirty viruses!

yeh it's probably best to reformat everything, make sure you get a couple good Antivirus/spyware programs after the reformat, and don't forget to do those windows updates there pretty important when protecting against malware and other viruses.

have you tried deleting using command line?

c:\>delete *.* c:\...\history

make sure you get the path right :)

or simply run the delete *.* from the history directory.

I got a trojan virus a month ago and it deleted my system restores.

Reformatting is the way to go I think.

Yes you should reformat, it's probably the best way to go.

Spybot should be fine with Spyware, but for everything else I'd recommend BitDefender, I think it was voted best Antivirus program for 2007 not sure about 2008, but I have it and I never have any problems with viruses.

Anyone know the absolute best anstispyware and antivirus programs that are FREE?

For antispyware I have Spybot so I believe I'm safe with that. It also has real time protection. For antivirus/malware/whatever...I have superantispyware. I also have AVG but it's not running very well. If I reformat it probably will though. Anyone think I'm safe with those?

Yes you should be fine with those, except don't use two antivirus programs, it could cause problems.
