Forums - Sony - SQUARE-ENIX MADE ME SNAP TODAY!

Has anyone ever played a game and loved it so much that they just wanted to buy every game ever made in that series and/or from that Dev company? A few days ago I finished what I must say is the best PSP game I have ever played (Crisis Core). I was so happy and pleased with the game I decided to go out to my local mall and purchase each and every final fantasy game that has ever been released to date. (I would only buy a copy once so FF1and2 I got on the PS1 so I didnt buy them again on the PSP)

And I mean all. I bought FF Origins, Chronicles, Anthology, VIII, DoC, Tactics, Ehergeiz, Xenogears,IX and XII(VIII-XII were Re-bought) I also managed to get a few PS3 games also. In total I spent $540.00 O.o I dont regret it though....If Square had continued to put quality like this out on the 360 exclusively I probably would Have Re-Bought it today again

Am I the only that this has happened to? Or Am I just crazy?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

I usually buy games in a series one at a time. I've never done it all together.

I don't think it was a wasted investment - the series is very good, almost uniformly. There isn't really a bad game amongst them, though X comes close.

You're just crazy.

And the bolded are not final fantasies.

And you're missing III for the DS.

Oddly enough X is my 2nd fav in the series with VII ranking in the top(Although I havent played anything Before VII)

I played FF7 first then slowly got into the series through the handhelds (with all the remakes).

3 was meh, 4 is awesome, 6 is the best, 12 wasn't so great, haven't played 10 but own it. CC DS is ok, CC GC is ok. Tactics is fun.

The series generally delivers, but after the overhyping of 12 which didn't turn out that great, i'm not expecting much from 13.

Right but those are games either featuring FF characters or are made by SquareSoft(-Enix)

You are seriously missing out. Most people will tell you how high VI ranks in the series. If you trully want to play it though, stay away from the PSX remakes. Get an emulator or something. Seriously, STAY AWAY. They do not do the game justice.

A good friend of mine is doing this with Atlus games right now. I think Persona 3 FES is the one that made him snap.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Wait, you got the Playstation remakes of Final Fantasy IV, V, and VI?

Tell me that Johann is wrong.
