Forums - Sales - Greenberg: Wii, Xbox 360 are really the two big winners but not for PS3

Wii and Xbox360 is already a winner because both sold better than their predessor while PS3 is a loser if it could not surpassed PS2 which seems impossible.

that doesn't determine a winner. there is never a true winner it is for each customer to decide. my opinion all three consoles saw improvements since the last generation. not in terms of sales but overall entertainment.

Capitalism is King if the world we live in and Ability to Grow is what determines a money making business as opposed to a cash hemmorrhaging catastrophe!  Investments are simply bets on which corporation can outdue itself and you must not have a grasp on the modern economy if you do not believe that growth is imperative to continuing a business.  Who would invest in a business that sells less each year?

I would love to own a business that could make 1% of 1,000,000 more in revenue each passing year, but would short a joke business who lost that yearly in a moment. "That's Entertainment!"

Microsoft, the company who made 360, says the 360 is the winner. how original

MS are going for the "if you cant beat them join them" approach and are doing all they can to make Nintendo get a hard on. It has been shown now that MS and Sony are very cocky and there PR bullshit really is quite something. Look at the jabs MS are taking being pummeled by a console the same price as it and selling more then a console double it's price.

If MS ever lead in a console race, the bullshit will really be LOL quality.

Greenberg isn't too far off the mark, thus far? The 360 is still the top platform for 3rd party software and as someone posted today, it is the top peerformer for rentals, with 7 of the top 10 titles in 2008...a year when Wii blew the doors off sales. Wii, is ofcourse the overall top console, but not necessarily from a 3rd party's perspective. The ps3...numbers don't lie...even if fanboys want to lie to themselves.

really? u agree with him. i believe that he is just a man who take pity on his own console by lashing on another. no matter what Sony or microsoft says the Wii is competition. in sales wise the Wii is the only true winner. microsoft can't even claim to have to the best games either after 2008. while i will say the 360 has great 3rd party but has the worst 1st party support of the big three.

As far as I knew the 360 kept up with wii in the software dept.  userbase of 45m but only 254m games sold, where as, 360 27m yet 214m games sold.  Looks to me that the wii has alot of catching up to do in terms of attach rate.  GEOW2 which Microsoft published has 4.3m in 9 weeks.  I'd say consumers believe in the publishing support of th 360(ie exclusives).

BTW I love Eddie Harris; the sax was my first love from about 9 years old.  I got about 14 years into it and really started to comprehend guitar.  You have to look at the notes to understand where the music is heading and if you don't get it, than...there is no way I can help you play jazz...check out "bad luck is all I have" and get it on lp if you can.

even if Sony lose this generation it wold still be a winner because of last 2 generations. If Sony would win this generation war it wouldn't be interesting anymore to watch. No company has EVER won 3 generations in the row. You didn't expect Sony to win this generation too, did you? All gamers and web sites really worked their @$$ of for Sony not to win this generation. they're making anit ps3 song, anti ps3 videos, anti ps3 blogs...

True. But how convenient for you to forget that the X360 had a 1.5 year (or whatever it was) headstart over wii in total software sales.

Sounds like something Greenberg will say.

You weren't very clear in stating what sales you were refering to. I don't know the exact figures but I am not disputing that X360 is the 3rd party king.

Oh so it is the websites and gamers' faults that Sony is last?  I figured it was Sony's arragonce in the extra high price tag, the lack of games originally, the still lack of advertising, etc.

Man, I'm soooo glad I put all those hours into creating that anti-PS3 song!  It is totally responsible for Sony's failure! /sarcasm
