 I thought we had already established that CoD 4 had indeed sold more units than Halo 3.  There's really no need to keep rubbing it in.  We're now limiting the comparison to 360 sales only so we can keep saying Halo 3 is more popular.

Oh please, regardless of what console it is on, Call of Duty 4 still outsold Halo 3.

No it isn't. Call of Duty sells more and thus is a bigger franchise.

Wasn't Halo 3 released in the same year as COD 4? Wasn't Gears of war released the same time as Cod 5? They can exist simultaneously on the XBOX. Your mistaking it for the PS3 the eay R2 got killed.

 Halo 3 = 8,887,320

CoD 4 = 6,885,158 on 360 and 3,927,537 on PS3 which is a total of 10,812,695.

CoD World at war is already at 4,120,691 on 360 and 2,448,740 on PS3 which is a total of 6,569,431.  Last week Halo 3 sold 97,116 versus World at War's 773,074 (360/PS3 combined, 442k on 360)  At that rate World at War should pass Halo 3 in about 4 weeks.

With the means to easily check some facts, I'm amazed at how many people just throw out their misguided opinions when they must know someone's going to call their fanboy ass on it.

 

Wow, ppl now compare multiplatform release to a game released on one console. Oh and OF COURSE WaW sold more last week than Halo 3, Halo 3 has been out for more than a year!

Halo has a dedicated fanbase. The number of Halo 3 daily players did not drop when COD 4 came out nor did it drop when COD WOW came out.

Anyone arguing one is better than the other is just expressing their opinion. They are vastly different... I am not a fan of the realistic COD/ Rainbow 6 style of FPS game at all so to me COD isn't even a must rent title. And there are people I know that preffer COD and can't stand halo.

So I really don't see the problem. There people that will buy both, buy one or buy the other. No matter when the games come out...

Agree completely.  The 360 userbase has shown that it can support more than one megahit at a time so I don't believe the sales of either will be effected, especially considering the fact that ODST will be budget priced.
