Hmmm it seems my decision to go with the 360 version was a wise one. Hopefully EA will get things in order for Madden 2009 on Wii...but I won't hold my breath.

These bugs are not really any worse than the bugs in the 360 version that have been mention elsewhere.  That said, most reveiwers that played multiple versions seem to like the 360 the best, followed closely by the wii version.

Around the Network

Kmass88 hit it on the head: the snap/pass "glitch" is caused by not keeping the Wii remote in the up and ready position(like an actual qb with the ball). The mis-reading of stiff arms, jukes, etc, is an occasional problem. However, 99% of the time it happens when I spaz out and try to shortcut a motion at the last second. When I plan the move a bit beforehand, which I have to do since the game isn't "second nature" to me yet, I rarely have a problem.

The blur effect bug is annoying, but not a big deal since it doesn't hinder gameplay at all. The graphics, generally speaking, look like the PS2 versions I played years ago. The grass does look good though. The game obviously wasn't built for the Wii from the ground up like EA said.

a question i have:

Would it be worth trading in my old 07 for the 08 version? i dont exactly play my 07 anymore, and i think online play sounds pretty cool.

Any suggestions?

If you decide to do that I'll trade you my mostly new 08 for your 07 provided it still runs fine. =P

As for the the hike/throw thing. I know that's what causes it, but the issue is, this never happened in 07 to me. I don't think I'm hiking any harder with the remote now then I did then, but the 08 version is overly senstive and doesn't give you more breathing room.

I'm not a Sports fan though, so that's probably why I liked 07 better. Just felt more pick up and play, and I could just
enjoy it.

I haven't seriously played Madden since the 05 edition so I don't know how 08 stacks up to 07. What I do know is that I really like 08. The party mode is a really neat addition provided you have people to play it with of course. Online needs a little work but it's the first online Wii game for EA so that's expected. I don't know how the 360 version is of course but I'm neither a Madden or a football fanatic so I'm more than happy with the Wii version.
