Resistance 2 (PlayStation 3)

Sony billed its first person shooter as the PlayStation 3 game we couldn't "resist." Sadly, a shallow single player campaign, a disappointing Leviathan battle and a lame hero made Resistance 2 unworthy of carrying Gears of War 2's jock strap. As a result, we exchanged it for more enjoyable shooters.

LittleBigPlanet (PlayStation 3)

Despite a robust level editor and the adorable Sackboy, we hopped into our escape pods and waved goodbye to LittleBigPlanet. Although the concept of user created levels intrigues us, most of them suck and Sony has a nasty habit of deleting people's creations. Sorry, but we have better things to do than collect stickers.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, PSP, DS)

Playing as Darth Vader's secret Apprentice sounded cool until LucasArts ruined everything. Force Unleashed eventually gagged on its own hype, courtesy of a sub par story, annoying Quick Time Events and a bothersome camera. We nearly Force Choked ourselves.

Mirror's Edge (Xbox 360, PS3, PC on January 13)

Upon first glance, Mirror's Edge was a breath of fresh air in a video game industry obsessed with sequels. Swept up in its slick visuals, we had dreams of clearing rooftops and sliding down windows while sticking it to "the man." Little did we know that "the man" would continuously shoot us in the back as we slid under pipes and vaulted over fences. That eventually led to numerous deaths and subsequent restarts. To top it off, we don't find its main character, Faith, that attractive.

Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii)

Fan boys are too love struck to admit it, but Nintendo tricks us into playing the same exact video games every year. Just look at Animal Crossing: City Folk, the supposed evolution in the popular franchise. Paying a mortgage, running pointless errands and conference calling via microphone sounds too much like real life. We'll pass.

Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV was amazing up until the point we realized that it was just like every previous GTA. After we gave up on dates, playing darts and jumping off skyscrapers (one of our favorite pastimes), we were left with the same old "assassinate this dude/steal this car" missions we'd completed hundreds of times before. Bring on The Lost and the Damned.

Mega Man 9 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii)

What started as a nostalgic homage to Mega Man quickly turned nasty as we cursed and threw controllers in frustration. Mega Man 9 is a sweet-looking and 8-bit inspired action game with cool boss characters and catchy music, but its insane difficulty had us sticking pins in Capcom-themed voodoo dolls. It was time to move on.

Prince of Persia (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Much like our dates, Prince of Persia would sound a lot better if its characters kept their mouths shut. We groaned the moment we heard the Prince's voice and suffered through his cheesy lines. Past that, the constant backtracking and lame combat overshadowed the incredible soundtrack and acrobatic maneuvers.

Far Cry 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Barreling through the African countryside, sniping scumbags and stealing diamonds were fun times until we realized that Far Cry 2 unfairly regenerates enemies. That made driving through previously cleared towns and checkpoints incredibly frustrating. On top of that, we never got the whole hero has malaria thing. Besides, this version of Africa doesn't have any lions. Unacceptable.

Sonic Unleashed (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2)

Once again, Sega failed to release a quality Sonic video game on consoles, this time subjecting us to a horrible mixture of super Sonic speed and slow-paced and torturous Werehog levels. Hey Sega, stop trying to be innovative and just go back to what made you famous.--Chris Buffa

Does Resistance not have much replay value? The sales haven't been that great and after launch I never heard too much about it. It sold for awhile and that was it.

Wow.

Sony fans will not like this list.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Mega Man is only there cuz tis hard... BS games are supposed to be hard, it puts hair on your chest.

I can agree with animal crossing thats for sure, I've stopped playing that, and kind of regret the purchase. It does feel very last gen.

Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.
