I dont want to say Sony isnt bringing some fire this year because they have some nice games coming, but you are correct that everything announced so far for 2009 does pale in comparison to 2008.

Anyways, I haven't posted on the forum much at all, which is painfully apparent. I have however, become a fan of VGChartz and the way it tracks the gaming industry.
Just thought I'd weigh in here as someone who doesn't have a PS3 yet (I own a 360, Wii and DS). Without a significant price cut, PS3 won't go any way to dominating the market-even with a price cut, it will struggle to achieve any kind of dominance. I don't doubt the PS3 has this year's best unveiled line up, and I expect a year over year growth in sales for the console, but I never expect it to dominate this generation. This year will be a good year for the PS3, but I think the last 6 months of this year, and especially the last quarter, will be massive for Wii and Nintendo-mainly in response to the work Sony have done to turn the PS3 around, and the work MS have done to hit a bigger market.

If by dominating you mean "remain third in now-gen home consoles and second in portables" the answer is definitely YES

If by dominating you mean "keep the PS2 ahead of the XBOX and the Gamecube" then that's another big YES.


Boy, do I feel positive about Sony today... Who wouldn't, I mean, it's not like they have financial difficulties, PR issues, marketing budget restricitions, exclusivity losses, the worst line up, inferior version syndrome, a financial crises, an expensive and pretty useless blu-Ray, yada yada.

2009 is peachy peachy, believe me ^^

360 is useless and has nothing going for it anymore. If K2 GOW3 FF13 GT5 are released, 360 will die a fast death. Wii has no games to compete.

Games wise Sony will utterly rape the competition.

I had to look at your post history to figure out whether this was a joke post or not. Unfortunately it seems it's not, although it's hard to say esp. since you mention FF13...

well the first week of january isn't looking like a good start for the PS3 so far in Japan. And if other regions aren't up from last week then it is really starting to look bleak for the start of this year.

Oh at everyone in this thread who made a comment along the lines of the OP not wanting to hear another stance thus the reason for his: "If you hate the PS3 stay out." Need to note this thread, because by using that arguement it simply means you hate the PS3. That applies to all, sublime or not that's what was done.

I'm not one for chickens and their eggs but you guys may be the ones who create a demand for threads like these?
