Never said the game would be shit. But if Nintendo fanboys spend nearly every day for the next year saying the next Zelda will sell twice the last game, be the greatest adventure game ever, and destroy Nintendo's competition, then please feel free.

And I think the wii is a mediocre and overhyped console both because of it's lack of graphics, third party support, kiddie games, and controls that only feel "right" with a select few games. People have difference of opinions. Personally, I could care less how different your opinion or someone else's is from mine but it does bother me when they make threads bitching about it. I don't make threads for my feelings on the wii, or Halo 3 or any other over hyped product I find mediocre. Get over it, your worse then all the threads of people praising the game put together. At least they are being positive about something.

Kitty: Lol, I'll give you Halo 3, that was practically obscene amounts of hype. I think the problem most non-PS3 fans have with the hype is that it is so focused on ONE game each time, with other systems it is spread out amongst several games, you know what I mean? So it is easy to get annoyed with something like Killzone, because every other thread in the Sony forum brings it up. Or at least that's my opinion.

You would hope that all the money spent in making this game. They would have a high budget on marketing it also.

 Only a handfull of games a year sell well on word of mouth.  

At least then there will be something to base the hype on.

At this point, KZ2 is likely to follow in the footsteps of LBP and Resistance 2 - a perfectly good game with fine sales that nevertheless fails to live up to the expectations that PS3 fanboys have heaped upon it.

How much you want to bet that if KZ2 doesn't get 1m sales in its first week someone will be asking why it failed?

I don't think most gamers hype a game to hell because it will get good sales. We hype games because they look amazing and we want to play them. LBP and MGS4 didn't meet the hype because they didn't sell a bajillion copies? Bullshit. We hyped them because they would be amazing games, and please go check metracritic if you don't think the common opinion is that they are amazing games.

I admit even I felt KZ2 was over-hyped while Resistance 2 under-hyped in comparison

but trust me after I played the Beta of Killzone 2....all my doubts were cleared and I was hyped.

The people who say killzone 2 will say bajillion copies are the minority n the kind of ppl whom one shud ignore.

those threads are not made by Sony fans. And  most of the threads i have seen are about its graphics, not huge sales. But I  still don't see why you created this thread, We just had CES and new videos that are just amazing were shown. AND THE GAME IS ONE MONTH AWAY. when do you want us to start talking about it?

No, sir. "The" hype isn't deserved. No game deserves this hype. It's getting LBPesque in overhype. In other words, it could be the best game ever(LBP) and it would still be considered a failure(LBP).

The word you are looking for is "some." Not "the." It deserves "some" hype. Very few things ever deserve as much hype as KZ2 is recieving from Sony fanboys....Jesus' return to Earth comes to mind.

Why should I be excited by the potential sales of a game ? For me, a game "lives up to the hype" if it's as great as I expected, not if it sells millions. If a great game sells like crazy, that's good because the developers might bring us another good stuff later, if not... too bad for the people who missed it

Besides, KZ2 is not the savior of anything. Why would the PS3 need to be saved ? It's just shaping up to become another great title on a very good console. I don't care if it's overhyped and I acually don't understand why anyone can be upset if a game gets some hype, deserved or not.
