If there is a bump, it'll be small. It's mostly hardcore gamers that know about the game at this point, and we either already own a ps3, will pick one up a few weeks before launch like SamuelRSmith's friend, or won't be getting a ps3 for this game.

If it effects sales amongst more mainstream gamers (not Wii mainstream, but last gen mainstream - your GTA/Madden/Halo guys), it'll happen slowly, as word of mouth about this game spreads.

And I fully expect this thread to be mentioned after release as a reason why the game flopped in sales.

Oh, please. If I make a thread saying that Halo Wars is going to sell 20 million first week, does that mean it's going to flop in sales?

Flop suggests that it sells below a lot of people's expectations, like Haze or... Too Human?

 

Remember the threads about LBP flopping?  I didn't say it should happen.  I said it WOULD happen, thanks to certain fanboys that will see every ps3 game as a failure, and will look for any reason at all to support that claim.

I really can't see it. I mean how can a franchise game go from being mediocore to amazing. Killzone 2 will be great and all. However, one game can't increase the sales of the ps3 and outsell the 360. MGS4 might have done it for a brief time but I think it really depends on the price drop to get the job done.

It won't. PS3 sales will fall far more drastically than the 360 sales this week due to last weeks numbers being the holiday season high for Japan. 360 can expect to sell 10,000 in the next set of numbers from Japan, while PS3 would be lucky to get to 30,000, and then even lower the next week.

I don't think it'll push PS3 sales past the 360, but I want to bet that KZ 2 will break even.

it should in EU as there is a bundle coming out then the K2 ps3 bundle it will definitely outsell it in EU with this bundle as by then the last 360 price cut will have faded

also in JP with R5 and all

hopefully that will b enough to offset the NA gap 360 will still have
