Forums - Microsoft - Is 360 hate in Japan still because of the war?

Think of the American red neck refusing to buy "Jap Crap or Jap Scrap" regardless how good they are. Same thing goes for the Japanese but I think they are more extreme.

well i dont know about the japanese customer behaviour ... do you?

if this is your opinion fine.. but make it look like your opinion not like youre giving us a lecture on things taht you cant prove to be fact

Japanese don't hate 360 because of war. They hate Microsoft. Microsoft has a lot of WW2 games which reminds Japanese that Americans killed 200 000 people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. take a look at COD World At War. As long as WW2 games exist for PC and 360, Japanese will hate 360.

A surprising number of Japan-developed games have covered WWII, universally putting the player on the side of the Allies, and sometimes even against Japan (the first probably being 1942: The Battle of Midway for the NES). This has typically raised eyebrows outside Japan, but it continues to happen every so often.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

did you guys played 1942 or 1944 for NES? its about japanese pilot destroyoing american ships and planes.

exactly...  next time put something like "i think" or "my opinion is"  in your sentence so we can see that right away... this way it looked like it was supposed to be fact

Of course it is. They lost the war and we know Japanese hate losing. Look at Sony for example, it needs western intervention to survive!

I don't lilke to insult anyone but you are a moron.

I know... my english sucks

This thread is not as crazy as it looks like, I am from Latin America and I know many people that don't buy a xbox just because it is from Microsoft.

I know... my english sucks

Because of the war? I doubt it, they eat up plenty of other US output.

However, judging by some of the comments on this thread I wouldn't blame them if they did.

Brand, image and reliability, coupled with correct approach have been the problem. As we saw when MS put money behind relevant games, etc. the 360 saw a decent spike.

MS problem is that they will have to spend way, way above the return for a long time to really get anywhere in Japan with 360, particularly with Nintendo resurgent and Sony still hanging on above them even with less jRPGs, etc.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
