I'm having way to much trouble trying to get into this game. I'm a huge Fallout fan (which is one reason I dislike the game), and everywhere I go in the game I can't help I've played it before, maybe around a year ago.

I can't imagine what game you are referring to...

Amazing game. Very addicting. I'm 80 hours into it and still love it. I have about 2/3rd of the map yet to explore. I'm going to be in such withdrawl once I finish the game.

Fallout 3 was total crap imo. Hopefully mods will make it better. Btw, there will be even ninjas in fallout world in the future! :D

(Click the pic for full article about fallout ninjas.)

Next thing we will get is zombies. Oh, theres 'zombies' already. Uhm... Demons then?

There's not many games I say are hard, but this game is kind of hard..

Reputation proceeds me, they told you I'm crazy, I swear I don't love the drama it loves me <3

If this game is only the shadow of the first two I will need to play those. This is one of my favorite games so far this gen. I've spent more than 30 hours just exploring and then I look at the map and discover I haven't even seen half of the wasteland yet. Great game!

I wouldn't be jumping into the original 2 games if you are truly enjoying this one, IMO.  Fallout 3 only shares 2 things in common with the originals.  That would be setting (post apocalyptic US) and name, that would be where the similarities stop.  To enjoy Fallout 1&2 you would probably need to enjoy slower games, the turn-based gameplay is more similar to SRPG or JRPG games then the FPS/TPS of Fallout 3.

@largedarryl -

Maybe I should give them a try then, I usually prefer the old turnbased RPG to the FPS. But with the turned based games I expect a great story and battle system. Do the original games fit both of these?

The originals play like a tabletop P&P type game put into a computer. I personally love the battle system. The story is so far amazing and the current pinnacle (in my eyes) of how a branching storyline game should work.

You can get Fallout & Fallout 2 from Good Old Games for $5.99 each.

The originals were done by Black Isle (Baldurs Gate, Planescape, etc ...), who were masters of the isometric RPG. If you never played the originals when they came out on the PC ten years ago, I'd strongly recommend.
