G4 is Correct, Yahoo is inCorrect.

Yahoo discusses the Psp a fail mp3 device of the 21st century but they don't see that psp is still bringing great games to the market and still doing decent sales and people will continue to buy the psp knowing that its is the only handheld device on the market to do what it does at that quality.
(Iphone games cant compete with PSP games Iphone sell great because its a great phone.)

That usually happens when you release 1 game a month on it :P
I love my PSP, but it gets no respect. Not even from Sony themselves.
@Spankey: Yes, the thread is what i'm talking about. Due to the lack of competition, the platform is very viable for some devs. Capcom is one of the publishers that can take advantage of it.
And i'm aware that PSP is doing relative good in Japan (though, how about its game sales in Japan?).
@Bullet: iPhone isn't selling because of it being a great phone, it's selling for iPod owners upgrading their players and of course, due to brand image.
The big question is, will Apple be able to get iPhone owners to upgrade to Mac.

eh, it depends on what perspective you're looking from. Most of the remaining support is just from Japan because that's really the only strong point of the PSP anymore. Someone recently posted yearly revenue numbers for the PSP software in the UK and they are down 36% over last year. Software sales in the west are on the decline and were never that high to begin with.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
Haha. One high profile crap spewer refuting the claims of another High Profile crap spewer.
I agree with crap spewer number 1 though, PSP is still around. I think with such a strong lineup in 2008 (relative to it's life thus far), it's managed to carve it's own niche market, particularly by doing the smart thing of putting alot of mini sequels of games on it.
I think that's what will attract people to buy the handheld, if you put a game about what happened between two major titles (i.e Resistance 1 and 2) that are on the PS3, onto the PSP.
Well at least games from Japanese developers like Capcom, and SE will spell some sales in the west as well. SF, RE, DMC would get some western sales and FF has quite the following even in the west.
I'm surprised more companies haven't joined in yet. Namco could make a killing with titles like Mr. Driller,Sould Calibur or any of their rpgs.
@nitecrawler: Namco would make even a bigger killing with them on DS. If other devs join, they kill the sales from each other, that's why only a limited number of publishers can make money with it and 3rd parties purpose is to make money for themselves, not for Sony.

The PSP is the worst gaming device i bought. The last game i got was God of War and that was like a year ago.
I really like the PSP it still sales decent amount of hardware (and has a shot at outselling PS3 in lifetime sales) but its the software where the problem lies, aside from SE and few others no other developer supports that console (Western support is dead), even Sony 1st party offerings have switched mostly to the PS3 (because they need to start making this console profitable, and sell it).
While PSP is really cool, it just does not get that much support, and software sales (apart from Japan) are very low.
