Forums - Nintendo - ‘Conduit’ Developer Dispels Myths About Wii Hardcore Gaming (Long Post)

Damn, it's nice hearing from these devs. I hope they can pull it off - as long as the game is decent, 1mil shouldn't be a problem. I can see it outselling Metroid - I know I didn't buy Metroid, but this game is a definite purchase. The two games are quite different.

I'll agree with some people here and say they're probably missing out on a ton of sales by lacking split screen. Even two player split screen (campaign) would be a huge deal. Split screen online would be killer.

I could be wrong, but one reason Gears is so popular is because it's extremely 2-player friendly - heck, the campaign is entirely built on two players. The kids have siblings to play with, y'know?

Yep, asking people to buy an extra TV, Wii, copy of the game and on top of that set it up, just to play local multi-player can really limit sells, I think.

Yeah, the Wii is designed with the idea of the family, or a group, gathering around a console. Which is why split screen would be so important, and split screen online would ad a social element(and would justify playing it in the living room, as I assume most Wiis are in the living room rather than the bedroom like some XBox's would be).

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

@Blasphemy

There is a crummy shooter on the Wii right now, Medal of Honor Vangaurd, which has N64 graphics and botch controls but the split screen works fine with the IR.

IR will do what it's supposed to do, its the game that has to recognize what the IR is doing.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

I pray to god this sells over a million. They are working there asses off for this game and it will be a shame to not have this game sell well. It will be a slap in the face for them

Nice. I love that they *get it*.
