Forums - Gaming - Serious question for da Wii h8ers

"fun games anyone can play" that from my view is very unlikely, few games can do that (only the GH series come to mind), i cant have fun for a long time with games like the ones on the wii, if ps4 and 720 only have flash like games like the most popular games on wii now, this will be my last console generation and i will only play pc. The reason i dont have a wii is that there is only 1 game that interest me and that is matroid and as time goes by nintendo gets further and further way from those kind of games.

this are the popular games that anyone can play that i get bore after X minutes

60 : mario kart wii, mario galaxy

15: Wii play , Wii sports, deca sports, mario a sonics olimpycs, Link's Crossbow Training

10 :wiifit, Mario Party 8, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2

1 : wii music

This are the games i enjoy on the wii

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

If the ps4 or 720 with the first group is bye bye console for me.

Note: I dont hate the wii.

An Example of a wii game that made no effort to be good and i think it would sell

and this a is a PS one game called tail of the sun

Imagine the year is 2011.

You drive home from work in your 2012 Honda Accord. I know it's only 2011, but the 2012 models are already out.

You turn on your HOLO-TV and the newscaster, beamed into your living room states, "The Xbox 720 and Sony PS4 were announced at the Cannes Game Festival today. Both feature motion controls, small size, minimal graphic upgrades, and come packed with a collection of fun games anyone can play. They will both compete at retail for $199"

What is your initial reaction?

I wonder what games are coming out for them.

Seriously, anyone worried about the consoles more than the games is a fanboy.

If they stick to their traditional lineup and also throw in some nintendo-esque casual play then I will pick one up.

Although, if the new wii hasn't been announced, why not buy the wii as it will already have thousands of games out already, including some very core installments like smash, metroid, mario, and more.

EDIT: @Frybread
Your little backstory made me like your personality more, but you're still an effing fanboy.

If all 3 systems have motion controls, each one in it's way, it's gonna be REAL hard to have multiplatform games.

So whether one console will have the lead and gather all good games, or there will be less multiplat games so probably less big budget games, since only 1st party dev will be able to throw a lot of money on an exclusive game.

I can't see a bright future in gaming if both Sony and MS start using motion controls on their system.

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

Well, if the Microsoft console launched and Fusion Frenzy is on top of the gaming charts along with Sony's Uncharted: Monopoly edition, I'll build a gaming PC from scratch.

Wii motion and pointer control is often annoying and unneccesary in many games. I can't count the amount of times I've wished that gathering starbits in SMG was automatic or MP3 was dualstick or mouse controlled.

That's funny.  After playing MP3 (and RE4) with Wii Remote I can't count the number of times when I'm playing Fallout 3 and run out of Action Points so can't use VATS and so just run around trying to dogde bullets until I get some Action Points back because I now find aiming with a control pad totally retarted.

If you can't manage to use traditional controls, even though every console has used them since the very beginning, the issue is with yourself, not the game.

Yes the issue is with myself.  That's my nature.  Once I have had something very good I can't go for something less.  It's like driving a bentley for 2 years and then having to use a tiny $5000 car.  I just won't be able to manage.  Would rather just walk.  That's how I feel about aiming with a control pad.  Would rather not do it.   Which is why I am never going to get any shooting game on 360.

I think about then I would be really feed up with fans boy crying how Nintendo cause this. But then since Sony and Microsoft went in that direction, it might be acceptable.

That is true. For the same reason, I can't see myself playing wii games.

Lol.  Is that  because of the controller or because of the games?  If it is because of the controller then why can't you play games like Brawl and Mario Kart that allow classic or gamecube controller rather than Wii remote.  If it's because of the games well you can't argue with the quality of games like Galaxy, Brawl, Zelda TP even if they are not HD.  Or was all console gaming bad before this gen?

You are making a lot of assumptions with your post as is very typical of the Nintendo fans on this board. Believe it or not, Nintendo franchises aren't for everyone and I, as well as many other people on this board, would appreciate it if you stopped shoving them down our throats.

As for your last sentence, it stinks of ignorance. Of course last generation games weren't bad, but some of us like to move on. Black and white television was good enough. Why do we need colours when plenty of good films were made and still could be made without colour? If a film has a good story, who the hell needs colours?
