Wii motion and pointer control is often annoying and unneccesary in many games. I can't count the amount of times I've wished that gathering starbits in SMG was automatic or MP3 was dualstick or mouse controlled.

That's funny.  After playing MP3 (and RE4) with Wii Remote I can't count the number of times when I'm playing Fallout 3 and run out of Action Points so can't use VATS and so just run around trying to dogde bullets until I get some Action Points back because I now find aiming with a control pad totally retarted.

If you can't manage to use traditional controls, even though every console has used them since the very beginning, the issue is with yourself, not the game.

Yes the issue is with myself.  That's my nature.  Once I have had something very good I can't go for something less.  It's like driving a bentley for 2 years and then having to use a tiny $5000 car.  I just won't be able to manage.  Would rather just walk.  That's how I feel about aiming with a control pad.  Would rather not do it.   Which is why I am never going to get any shooting game on 360.

That is true. For the same reason, I can't see myself playing wii games.

Lol.  Is that  because of the controller or because of the games?  If it is because of the controller then why can't you play games like Brawl and Mario Kart that allow classic or gamecube controller rather than Wii remote.  If it's because of the games well you can't argue with the quality of games like Galaxy, Brawl, Zelda TP even if they are not HD.  Or was all console gaming bad before this gen?

You are making a lot of assumptions with your post as is very typical of the Nintendo fans on this board. Believe it or not, Nintendo franchises aren't for everyone and I, as well as many other people on this board, would appreciate it if you stopped shoving them down our throats.

As for your last sentence, it stinks of ignorance. Of course last generation games weren't bad, but some of us like to move on. Black and white television was good enough. Why do we need colours when plenty of good films were made and still could be made without colour? If a film has a good story, who the hell needs colours?
