Forums - Gaming - How come everyone cares about Mosnter hunter all of a sudden?

I have been playing Monster Hunter every sense day 1 launch and have been playing it non-stop even to this day modding my ps2, getting japanese web service to play MH2 on ps2, and hacking my psp to just get the game. Whenever the topic was brought up many people dismissed it with ignorance claiming it to be a pokemon immitation. Those that did play only got an hour or two in not getting throught the minor tasks or not going online with it and complained about the camera system.

Now all of sudden everyone says," They can't wait".......so what the hell happened that i missed to make everyone bitch or just plane ignorant about it care. God knows it is not advertising, as there hasn't been a Monster hunter add in america for years now.

Personally, I've never been much interested in the series. Even when MH3 was announced, I was only interested that a big third-party franchise was coming to Wii exclusively. This was at a time when that didn't happen too often.

But these recent videos have me salivating.

It could be the 2G sales, so everyone got interested, or the fact that MH3 is going to the Wii and it activated the Sony haters, tons of reasons...

Since i'm a Capcom fan, i got interested since the 1st one on the PS2...

I think another poster said this in another MH thread, so i also think the same thing as the fact that MH on the ps2 was surrounded by alot of great games and kinda got drowned out. My guess for the psp ones being successful is maybe the offline part for wasn't a bare part of the game like the ps2 version was.

well personally for me I've never played the MH games but im excited for MH3 due to it being loved by the Japanese and the fact that it just looks fun.

I care because I want a game on my Wii that will push all the hardware's capabilities, from graphics to online.

Also, it's Capcom. Guess the rest! ^^

So if I understand you correctly, you're asking why people who complained about the game when they didn't know anything about it are interested in the game now that they know about it.

 

I think you're answering your own question.

I did not answer my own question. Gameplay is exactly the same aside from waterbattles as the last 2 so there is nothing, there has been absolutely no advertising in the states aside from a few websites mentioning it.  Now all of a sudden people can't wait? Gameplay videos of the last two have been up for years its not like anything new is shown aside from water battles and new monster as said before.

You just said that you were hearing complains from people that either didn't know anything about the game or only played a little bit.

I agree that it sucks that people wrote it off because of their own ignorance.

in other words they are jumping on the bandwagon just cause there is only so many conventional style games on the wii.
Im one of the few who only played a little bit on the PSP version and liked it but didn't want to get into a game that deep at the time also to fact that i was playing that japanes version kinda put a wrench in things.
