Forums - Microsoft - Is KODU Microsofts answer to Little Big Planet?

This game will be Huge!!!

Around the Network

I haven't seen it written here but I heard this is coming to the 360 in the Spring.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Somebody else said but here we go

"XNA for Children" Sums it up perfectly. Its not trying to be a LBP killer ...

LBP and Kodu are totally different. LBP is a level editor, it is limited. Kodu is a game creator and in 3d. 2 different types of product.

@ selnor: and to add to that: As far as I can see, LBP is a game first and foremost, while Kodu is a tool to make games.

lbp did not invent level creation... PC had that. hell there was level editors in brawl and boomblox on wii before lbp... and i'm pretty sure many games before that had editors... (dungeon maker for one comes to mind).

so no this is not a response to an only decently selling game.

Exactly, and is this even coming out on the Xbox 360? I imagine it to stay with a PC release.

I say after realising the 360 symbols in the very screenshot at the top ...

Thats interesting this is getting released on the Xbox 360 ...

Either KODU will be more capable (and complex) than LBP or not. And, unless there is an integrated environment where you take a character you customize and play ALL the content, it isn't the same. MAYBE it helps blunt the initiative of user created content that LBP has. BUT, it is far more likely to be an intro product to warm people up creating Live Community Games.

No, actually. Microsoft is making its game to sell harware more so then software, and LBP didnt sell hardware.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

It's like Mark Overmar's Game Maker.
